Sisterly (and Brotherly) Love

Above are our 2 indoor cats:  Cinder and Ella (get it, together they are CinderElla).
Ella has been really sick for the last few months and is getting worse.  I did take her to the vet the other day, and he recommended giving her a twice daily dose of just a dab of vaseline to try to clean out her system or to coat her insides (if she perhaps had an ulcer).  She seemed temporarily better – but now she is back to being worse.
She is not keeping food or water down – and she is getting thinner and thinner.  She doesn’t seem to be suffering except when the nausea hits her …
Her “twin” sister (litter mate) Cinder has been taking extra care of Ella, licking her more often – and staying really close to her.  That’s Cinder in the picture above with her paw around Ella.
It makes me really sad to think Ella may have a fatal illness (the vet said she could have some kind of organ-failure but he couldn’t know that without doing a scope or blood work = very expensive).  For now, we’re taking it day-by-day – and hoping maybe it is just an ulcer or a temporary something – but my gut feeling tells me she is probably very ill. :*(

In happier news, our boy is back from 5 days – 4 night at Teen Camp with a few kids from church!  Miriam was super happy to have her brother home – and we’ve been hearing her call “An—-drooo!!” all night long.

Sounds like Andrew had a great week at camp.  The speaker for the week was a preacher I had heard as a teen myself, Dr. Johnny Pope.  Dr. Pope is one of those dynamic, pertinent speakers who is full of enthusiasm and keeps your attention all while instilling wonderful principles from God’s Word into your heart.

There was also plenty of activity at camp – to include many wacky contests and games and time swimming, eating, and just hanging out with friends.

Dan and Anna are off to Junior Camp next week … Looking forward to hearing what they will experience too!

Im so sorry about your little girl kitty as a cat mom myself. Such a lovely pic of brother and sister together. Im happy your kids are able to experience the church camps as I also have happy memories of attending church camps as a teen. 🙂

  3. So sorry about your kitty! 😦 We have had 2 cats with FIV (feline version of AIDs) and it was hard to watch them suffer. Praying it is something temporary for Ella!
