Joining Sandra on yet another Monday.

The Weather:::
It is 69 degrees right now – all the windows are open !! 🙂

On my reading pile:::
Still plugging through INTROVERTS IN THE CHURCH by Adam McHugh
Also been catching up on some magazines
On my tv:::

since Miriam is not awake, right now it is 7th grade Life Science (Anna’s class)

On the menu for this week:::
I made a menu for the whole week!!!  Probably for the first time ever!
Monday – oven baked fajitas
Tuesday – pork ribs, corn-on-the-cob, cole slaw
Wednesday – chicken breast patties and rice with gravy, salad
Thursday – baked sweet & sour chicken w/ fried rice
Friday – Ham (crock pot) with potatoes and green beans
Saturday – leftover ham (maybe ham-potato-cheese casserole or ham sandwiches)
On my to do list:::
getting ready for a yard sale w/ friends this weekend!!  cleaning out, sorting, pricing items.
Homemaking Tips:::
This is more of a home-schooling tip – but a friend recently told me her kids always do their math homework on graph-paper.  It helps them to keep the numbers or decimal points or whatever they are working with in straight lines, so you can see how they worked out the problems more clearly.
Looking around the house:::
Anna is watching her Science and other classes on DVD; Andrew has 3 tests today.
I’m keeping an eye out for things I can sell in the yard sale!
The dishwasher needs to be unloaded so I can load dirty dishes, but that is Anna’s chore so I have to wait for her.
From the camera:::
On my prayer list:::
My husband’s job situation – thankful that he has some temporary work – but right now he has applications in for about 14 job vacancies in the area he wants to work in, long term.

my friend’s friend passed away this weekend from a sudden brain aneurysm, leaving a husband and 4 children :*(  can’t imagine what they are going through this week.

Bible verse, Devotional:::

“Cast not away your confidence because God defers his performances. That which does not come in your time, will be hastened in his time, which is always the more convenient season. God will work when he pleases, how he pleases, and by what means he pleases. He is not bound to keep our time, but he will perform his word, honour our faith, and reward them that diligently seek him.” ~ Matthew Henry

  1. The loss of your friend just sounds so devastating! I will pray for her family and the people who's lives she touched. Sounds like a good cool day. We are dropping down to the high 70's on Thursday, then back up again. My son in 7th grade does his math on graph paper, too. He likes it better. Will keep praying for your husbands work, and good for you and your menu. Sounds pretty good to me :)Blessings,Susie

  2. Sara H says:

    😦 So sorry to hear about this woman. We will pray for the family.

  3. Angie says:

    What a great idea about the graph paper! I might have to try that one. We'll be getting to decimals this fall so that will be helpful. Thanks.Still praying for your husband. We once had a next door neighbor who was a kindergarten teacher and she fell over dead one day of an aneurysm. It was about 1 week into school. We felt so bad for her family and those new little students. Her son, age 4 and mine (same age) really hung out a lot after that. His dad was a truck driver and would be gone for a few days at a time. The son would have to go to Gramdma's. It was tough. I will say a prayer for your friend's friend. (Whew I'm chatty. Must need some girl time.) 🙂

  4. April says:

    So sorry for your friend's loss…that's such a tough situation. Hope and pray a permanent position opens up for your husband soon…KEEP THE FAITH! We've been having cooler temps. here, too…and I love every second of it!
