Fall Fun

I do believe that the season of autumn began today (Saturday) on the calendar … but for us, the Fall Fun began on Friday evening.  The weather was feeling quite fall-ish – hovering around the mid-70s.  – the perfect evening for a bon fire with friends at the pumpkin patch!

We met up with some home-schooling friends from church … and roasted hot dogs and let the kids run around, throw a football, and climb trees.

The pumpkin patch place actually has a green house and is a lovely property with lots of flowers to check out …

Our group getting ready to ride the wagon to the CORN MAZE:

First there was a ride for the younger kids.  This picture was taken right before MiMi climbed out and adamantly insisted:  “No want it!!”

We started the corn maze around 6:30 p.m. … It was a lovely evening – perfect for being outside!  As you can see the corn really suffered from the drought this summer here in the Southern Midwest and was hardly as high as an elephant’s eye:

We watched the sunset as we wandered around in the dusky evening:

And finally, it was dark … but we had glo sticks and flash lights … and we did not lose anyone in the maze!  Smile

Looks like fun. I still can’t believe how big your little one is getting, feels like you just brought her home from the hospital 🙂

That looks like a lot of fun. When my girls were little our visit to the local apple orchard to pick apples and make our own cider marked the beginning of Fall. Oddly enough many years later, the man who ran this orchard, became my husband! And now you know the rest of the story!
