HHMwinter

Joining Sandra today for the LAST HHM of the year!

THE WEATHER:::

We woke up to SNOW!!!!  Finally … about 1-2 inches!  32 degrees right now.

RIGHT NOW I AM:::

Just enjoying the quiet morning … Husband and MiMi are watching cartoons together.  Big kids are still asleep.  I have a BIG cup of coffee, a throw blanket, and my jammies on.

THINKING:::

I am SO ready to move on to 2013 … SO ready.

ON MY READING PILE:::

Finished the book of Daniel in the Bible.  Finished the 23rd Cat Who book last night – ready for #24.  Still trying to read QUIET by Susan Cain for review – but I’m fizzling.  It’s a little too technical for me.

ON MY TV:::

cartoons

ON THE MENU:::

TODAY:  the turkey I’ve been wanting to bake since Thanksgiving!  Which means left-overs for a day or two.

ON MY TO-DO LIST:::

bake a birthday cake!   Daniel’s birthday is tomorrow.  Smile  This officially ends our celebration season – from Sept to Jan 1, our family celebrates ALL 5 of our birthdays, our anniversary, Thanksgiving, and Christmas … and of course, New Year’s.

HOMEMAKING TIPS:::

We’ve been cleaning out closets and drawers around here, getting MORE bags ready to donate to Goodwill!  I like to start by taking absolutely everything out and then going thru the clothes and STUFF piece by piece – NOTHING I don’t LOVE goes back into the closet.  Considering moving makes me want to really clean out and down-size so we don’t drag a bunch of junk to our new place with us.

LOOKING AROUND MY HOUSE:::

Enjoying the last day or two of having the Christmas tree up with its twinkling lights … and the Christmas candles glowing.

FROM THE CAMERA:::

It is temporarily missing … MiMi carried it off last night after requesting a photo session of herself in her princess dress.

ON MY PRAYER LIST:::

STILL waiting to hear the FINAL word on my husband’s potential job!!  Found out the evaluation board that is supposed to analyze all his experience, military service, etc. and give us the final salary offer has not even met yet – our HR guy is trying to pin them down on a date.   At least it gives me the opportunity to pray for favor from the board and the best possible scenario for our future.

Many who are mourning loved ones or facing serious illness during the holidays and going into a new year already wrought with challenges.

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:::

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
