Seasons change … at least in the Ozarks region where I have lived for the last 12 years. I have been in regions where there really are no seasons … we started married life in Monterrey, California, and I was swimming outside in our apartment’s pool in February! While that was neat for a short time, we had to drive several hundred miles north to the mountains to find snow and cold to make us realize it was winter … in a place where snow could happen up into June (the other extreme)! Hawaii’s temperate climate might be nice too, year around … however, I’d miss the change.
Change is part of life … and yet, sometimes change throws us for a loop. Some people adapt to change better than others … some people are very resistant to change, in fact (Hello, my name is Conny … I am resistant to change).
And yet without change, there would not be the transformation and the beauty and the anticipation of newness. Change often leads to renewal, I’ve found. There may be barren, gray times in between … but in the end, especially if you know God, change can be a very good thing.
