As I look outside my window:::
Miriam sings a song on the mornings that she goes to K3 with her teacher and school friends: “What’s the weather like today? Like today? Like today? What’s the weather like today?” … and today I’d answer: cloudy and windy!
Right now I am:::
That’s probably a relief to anyone who reads my blog when my swirly thoughts kick in!! I’ve found that this happens most when I write late at night after a particularly full day – I have to process all that has happened – and writing it out in order of events with my responses thrown in helps me a lot.
Thinking and pondering:::
a lot of things … but mostly upcoming events: my son is supposed to attend a Homecoming Banquet/Ceremony this Saturday at school. He doesn’t have a suit that fits … and I have NO IDEA what he is going to wear.
Annie-Belle will also be there as the 8th grade class will be serving the food; she has to wear black pants, a white top, and black shoes. That’s a lot easier to accommodate!
And I’ll be there, too … but since I’m just working in the background, what I wear is irrelevant.
Today marks the 4th and final grading period of this school year! Only 44 more school days to go!!!!
On my bedside table:::
W for Wasted by Sue Grafton.
On my tv tonight:::
nothing … as it is opening day for the St Louis Cardinals today, it will soon be A LOT of baseball!!
Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy … yes, MiMi is home with me.
On the menu for this week:::
I actually worked on this a little while this weekend!!
Today – chili frito pie
Tuesday – chicken spaghetti, salad, and bread
Wednesday – fajitas
Thursday – possibly a ham – or something I can easily throw in the crock pot as it is our busy afternoon with Annie-Belle’s theater class from 4-5 p.m.
Friday … ok, didn’t get this far yet – I really have zero idea.
On my to do list:::
need to run a few errands – get stamps, etc.
laundry (as usual!)
I’d like to start moving out my winter clothes and finding some of my “summer” ones (this involves going up in the attic – ick).
Happening this week:::
Homecoming this Saturday. Otherwise, it is just our usual week – minus basketball practice.
My simple pleasure:::
quiet Monday mornings with the big kids back at school and Daniel back at work.
Lesson learned the past week:::
It was our Spring Break last week … and since Daniel was starting a new position at work, we didn’t really do ANYTHING! The girls got to spend a few days with their grandparents, but otherwise, we just stuck close to home.
I did enjoy spending one day with my son and MiMi, shopping and running errands with them. And the next day, I took just Annie-Belle to lunch and shopping for a while. We even got simple manicures!
Looking around the house:::
it is fairly clean and orderly so maybe I can steal a few moments on the computer or read a book today!
From the camera:::
My kids at the park yesterday:
a friend from our last church starting round 2 of chemo today.
my husband’s transition to his new job – he is still in training and since he now works at a mental health clinic, there is a lot to learn yet about correctly and sensitively handling such a variety of people and situations and medical personnel (knowing the difference between psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists and social workers and all the support personnel that goes along with them!).
Bible verse, Devotional:::
